Clematis Fever and Fence

clematis on trellis

OH I love clematis! I’m crazy about clematis! Can’t wait for them to bloom!

I just purchased two clematis plants one is Ville de Lyon and other is Summer Snow. I had to make an obstacle for my cat to stop jumping from terrace to my neighbour’s roof so I used the mesh that is used for construction work (here it’s called ecopan or mediapan). But i didn’t like the way it looked on the fence. Naturally the first thing that comes to mind is climbers 😀 . I wanted a quick climber that will completely cover the mesh in one year. Found some sweet peas seeds and tried to grow them but that didn’t work out. Then I bumped into clematis and I got the fever. Again. And why stop at buying one when the other one is on a discount. Naturally you’ll buy 2, right?

Since I liked the way that the bigger plant has come to grow on it’s mesh trellis in no time, I decided to make a new trellis for the other plant :).

Clematis, tools and fence

Needed tools:
1. Construction mesh aka ecopan or mediapan, used for armature
2. plastic strips

Procedure is simple – put the mesh in wanted area. Attach the mesh with plastic strips to the fence or some other frame. And it’s done! 🙂

Just put the planter/container beside the fence (if you’re using containers like me) and when it grows enough attach it to the mesh.
