Hi all,
I’m organizing a Halloween party again this year. And I already decided on a bit different menu. Our party has a theme and this year the theme is Gothica. Do all of the dishes and decorations are following the theme as much as possible. So my Halloween dinner table will be setup accordingly.
Halloween dinner table cloths
This year I remembered one of the techniques I used in high school to make myself some belts and bags. I used macrame technique to make a spiderweb table cloth that will make much of the table decorations. I did the table cloth a bit differently, I knotted my “main” line, so the knots can be moved vertically but not much. This way the calculation for the cross lines was much easier – diameter of the table + some extra to fall over edges.
The main line I didn’t cut, but actually used it on the cob.
This cloth will actually go over the base pure white cloth. That I did last spring. It simply needed cutting into circle and hemming, so no particular skill was used. Only a ton of patience when hemming 😀 .
Halloween dinner tableware
I have a bit of problem when it comes to dinnerware. My plates have green happy patterns on them and they really don’t fit with the theme. Since I really really don’t want to buy any more tableware. I will use what I have. That said – It’s not much, but then again I have enough.
With what we have in mind I created the menu so that not all dishes require plates. For instance cold appetizers won’t be served on the plate but as a finger food. As well as dessert and cheese. Some dishes will require plates or bowls but that will be manageable. I may borrow some of the glassware from my friends if needed. But I think it won’t be needed. All of the stuff I’m using will either be glass or metal. Keeping in mind the theme of Gothica.
Halloween dinner table accessories
No we come to the accessories that will be the centerpiece and table napkin rings. The rings are made from black cardboard that you can buy in the local craft store. They are simply cut into needed length and the bat shape is then cut through using the nail scissors (they are bent so it’s easier to cut out the form with them). Then the ends are glued together to form the ring.
Centerpiece is simple and elegant. Because of the spiderweb cloth, the table doesn’t really need much of the extra decor. So my centerpiece are three glass candle holders with candles and some lambs ears bellow them. If I manage to find some blood-red roses, I will add one to the centerpiece. If not, this should be OK.
