Happy holidays – we’ve moved.

Happy Holidays from Seasons in Garden

Happy holidays!
It’s finally here. ’tis the season to be jolly. And all the plans that I had for this years feast, went up in flames when we got the job in Germany. So we moved. We found out we are going to Germany around Halloween, but didn’t know that we would move to Germany in two weeks time. I had to pack our bags, and go. Leave the yard and house, and start life new in big city. I haven’t posted much for some time now since I had no internet connection, except if I made a hot spot with my cell phone. Not really good idea for making huge uploads/downloads, so I had to restrain from blogging 🙁 .

Now we have finally settled and I can start blogging again. Like I said, I had big plans for holidays, with xmas/yule lights everywhere in the yard and a huge dinner for my family…the works… I had to change that in an instant. So for this xmas/yule we had small dinner with cakes, and small xmas tree. I bought araucaria pine to use as a house plant and a xmas/yule tree. We bought small and light ornaments and decorated it with satin bows so that the decorations don’t overwhelm the branches. It’s not the best looking xmas/yule tree, but.. it’s ours. And gives us a bit of holiday cheer.

We are now in Frankfurt, in an attic apartment that has a balcony. Luckily for me, the balcony is big enough to house some plants, and I already had a container garden at home, so this will only be a smaller version of it. All of the plans for the garden in 2018 are now back on the drawing board. Here it constantly rains, which is quite opposite to the weather back home. The summers are more mellow and winters as well. Frankfurt weather is in one sentence – cloudy with rain periods during the day and small patches of sunshine. So the plants I can use on this balcony are different. We plan to put an electric barbecue and small table with two chairs. The rest will be covered with plants. I don’t know if I’ll be able to put a water feature.

As for animals, our beloved cat Antoaneta is still in Croatia since when we arrived here in middle of November, we were in an apartment that didn’t allow any animals. Hopefully she will arrive to Frankfurt next summer. We really miss her. Nothing is broken or scratched. No hairs are left on sofa or bed. And no tail greats me when I get home from work. 🙁

So with a bit of sadness and a lot of hope, I wish you all

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
