Plant roses in winter ?!?!?!?!

Plant roses in winter

Yesterday was a nice sunny COLD winter day here. So I though to myself – What can I do now? I know! Re-plant my mini yellow roses! I mean it’s completely WRONG season to plant ANYTHING. So why not plant roses.

My logic sometimes suprises me. I know that it’s completely wrong to plant them now, but currently they are in small containers, so I figured they will survive the winter easier if I replant them to a bigger container. So I took the two construction containers (for mixing
plaster) and made them plant containers by drilling the hole in their side for drainage. And added new soil and simply popped the mini roses in. They were definitevly in waaay too little soil for their own good. So they should be fine. I think.

Let’s see if they’ll survive the winter 😀

p.s. the reason I use construction containers for planting is that I want to use uniform planters in the garden that I will hide with wooden planking in the next spring, hopefully. Those plastic planters are way too expensive if they look nice and if they are plain and less expensive they are usually low quality and break easily. These are durable and will last much longer.
