Hi,
we had our first broad beans harvest.
And carrot harvest as well. These were used for tasty lunch of broad bean stew. So far we had two more harvests and next weekend we’ll have the last small harvest of broad beans. I put them in the freezer and will use them over the year. The only thing about broad beans is that they take long time to peel. First you peel their husk then you have to peel their beans from the thick skin. Although if you use them while they’re small and young you can actually eat them like you do peas. No extra peeling required.
Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed. They have nice buttery flavour and when peeled they aren’t heavy on the stomach.
