Onion pizza with tomato salad

Onion pizza with tomato salad

Hi,
this is a recipe for onion pizza that I make often. It is a simple pizza and we love our pizza. Unlike other version this one has onions on top. Has no mushrooms and contains a thick layer of cheese on top.

Needed for onion pizza

pizza dough (I make gluten free version according to my dad’s recipe, but any pizza dough will do)
thinly sliced boiled ham (pizza ham)
shredded emmentaler (cca 150g I don’t really measure)
shredded mozzarella (a bit more then emmentaler)
medium sized red onion cut to rings
quick pizza sauce

Stretch pizza dough in the backing tray. Spread quick pizza sauce over the dough and spread the ham on top. Then first add the layer of emmentaler cheese over entire pizza. After that add a bit thicker layer of mozzarella on top of the emmentaler. Spread onion rings on top and bake in heated oven for 15-20min (untill pizza is done). Serve with tomato and basil simple salad

Needed for the quick pizza sauce

5 Tbsp tomato puree
salt, pepper, cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp dried oregano

Usually I make a marinara sauce for pizza when I have the time. I also have a version that is quick to make. This is the quick version. Take all ingredients and mix them together. Adjust the seasoning if needed and spread over pizza.

Needed for tomato salad

Bowl of cherry tomatoes (200 – 250 g)
salt, pepper,
1 Tbsp oil (tastier if you use olive oil)
small fresh basil leaves

Halve the tomatoes and put them to serving bowl. Add the seasoning and oil. Then add the basil leaves, mix all together and let marinate for 10 minutes. Serve and use it on pizza instead of ketchup.

Delicious 🙂
